The Mar Thoma Syrian Church of Malabar founded by St.Thomas, one of the twelve disciples of Jesus Christ with its head quarters in Kerala, being indigenous in origin is deeply rooted in the socio-cultural milieu of India. Its leaders also took active role in the nationalist movement and the freedom struggle. The church has initiated a number of educational ,social , medical and charitable activities all over the country and especially in North India in the last over six decades.
